Our services in this area provide information, support, education, and advocacy for adoptees, birth parents, birth family, and those with DNA discoveries. Activities include our General Discussion Meetings, Birth Mothers’ Support Group, DNA Discovery Support Group, and Search and DNA Assistance program for those seeking family and looking to connect. Services for Prospective Parents

Our Services for Families & Youth includes one-on-one guidance for individuals interested in becoming adoptive or foster parents on the process and navigating the journey to provide permanency for a child, training for parents through the Ohio Child Welfare Training Program, as well as our Adoption 101 and Adoption 201 for prospective adoptive parents.

 

Education & Community Outreach

Advocacy & Public Policy

Advocacy is a core activity of Adoption Network Cleveland. By representing the perspectives of those touched by adoption and foster care, Adoption Network Cleveland uses grassroots and other lobbying efforts to ensure the voices of people connected to adoption and foster care are heard. From working for access to original birth certificates for all adult adoptees to ensuring that no qualified person is barred from adopting, Adoption Network Cleveland works to create adoption-friendly practices and policies on a local, state, and national level.
