DNA Discovery Support Group facilitated by Becky and Oliver
This General Discussion Meeting has been specifically created for individuals with DNA discoveries and surprises.
While this meeting typically has an open discussion format, the February 1 meeting will have a special topic, "Redefining Family." With the increase in sales of consumer DNA kits, such as Ancestry, 23 and me, My Heritage, and FTDNA, users might find surprising results or previously unknown DNA relatives. Finding family or being found - whether you are looking or not - is a major life event. It can upend long-held beliefs about ourselves and might cause us to examine our view of “family”. Have your DNA results impacted your perspective?
What is the scope of this group?
This peer support group is not meant to replace conventional therapy or to delve into the technical aspects of understanding your DNA results, but rather serve as additional support on your personal journey to integrate your DNA findings into your life. Through listening and sharing with your peers, the hope is you will get the support you need to face the challenges that your DNA discoveries have presented.
This meeting will be a virtual meeting facilitated by Becky and Oliver. Our Virtual General Discussion Meetings meet via the Google Meet platform (which can be accessed through a home computer/laptop, tablet, or mobile phone) and will require an internet connection or phone data connection.
