Presentation Title: Nurtured by Nature: Adoptee Experiences and the Healing Power of Nature

Bio: Reba Stieg was adopted at 3 months old and began journaling and reflecting on her inner world at a young age. She found companionship and peace in the natural world and continues to resource from a deep connection with nature. Learning to trust and receive support from therapists, mentors, elders and community, as well as the steady love of friends and family, continues to foster healing of her attachment wounds. Most important, however, has been becoming, for herself, the one who never leaves. Reba continues to explore how to show up authentically and compassionately in the world. Out of her own healing, she was moved to support the healing of others and has been honored to serve as a counselor/therapist for more than 20 years. She continues to grow her skills to help clients integrate healing through narrative therapy, inner child/parts work, body awareness, mindfulness, art and nature-informed approaches and small group work.
