Presentation Title: Ethics in Child Welfare, Adoption, and DNA Discoveries – A Panel Presentation, Panelist discussing “No Blurred Lines: Child Welfare Professionals as Adoptive Parents”

Bio: Myama M. Locke resides in the Metro Detroit area and has worked in child welfare for 14 years for the State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services as well as other organizations.  She has significant experience in DHHS Foster Care in St. Clair and Macomb Counties respectively, DHHS CPS in Kent County, DHHS Placement Services in Wayne County, private agency oversight through West Michigan Partnership for Children in Kent County, and a second stint in DHHS Foster Home Licensing in Wayne County after the first experience in St. Clair County.  She also works remotely at Judson Center as a GROW Curriculum Trainer/Facilitator and has been a PRIDE Trainer previously for the State of Michigan as well. Along with these career endeavors in child welfare that have given her the opportunity to gain management experience, administrative oversight experience, public speaking, curriculum development, and training experience, she also works on a consultant basis with CARE of Southeastern Michigan contractually doing Staff Development Training for different organizations throughout the Metro Detroit area.  Recently, she also obtained her State of Michigan Real Estate License and owns UnLocked Legacy Real Estate and Esther Consulting Services. Ms. Locke is the adoptive mother of two busy tweenagers.
