Gabriel Glissmeyer, MPH
Presentation Title: From Silence to Support: Creating Space for LGBTQ+ Adoptees
Bio: Gabriel Glissmeyer (he/him) is a queer and transgender transracial adoptee. He was born in Cleveland, in foster care in Columbus, and eventually adopted and raised in Utah. Gabriel has worked in LGBTQ+ health for over 15 years and studied the impact of adoption and birth record access on public health and prevention measures during graduate school. Based on his own experience, Gabriel created and is the facilitator of a peer support group for LGBTQ+ adult adoptees with participants from several countries. In his free time, Gabriel enjoys reading, going on walks, and building relationships with his birth and foster families.
