Presentation Title: The Healing Power of Adoptee Friendship

Bio: Christine Koubek is a mother of sons, writer, adoptee speaker, and workshop leader. She was born in Massachusetts, adopted through Catholic Charities in New York, and has been reunited with her biological families for more than thirty years. Her essays on adoption include, “A Matter of Voice‚” for Electric Literature and “Finding Ann Marie,” an essay on being found, which received an American Society of Journalists and Authors’ Award for work that makes a difference. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing and recently completed a two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training program led by Buddhist psychologists and authors, Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. She enjoys working with adoptees to help them tap into and share their stories.
