Presentation Title: Healing Through Performance: The Role of Drama Therapy in Adoption & Foster Care

Bio: Cassey Fye, LISW-S, P-RDT, is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervision Designation and a Provisional Drama Therapist. With over a decade of experience, Cassey has a strong history of collaborating with community members to address barriers and implement support systems through advocacy, education, and community-centered programs. Cassey believes that stories move us forward and feels honored to work for organizations that prioritize the expertise of lived experience and empower members of the community to use their own stories as messages of hope and tools for change.

In previous roles, Cassey has led initiatives that provide education and support for those impacted by mental illness, adverse experiences, and trauma. She has made significant contributions to education as a co-author of the Cleveland Playhouse’s CARE Program, a trauma-informed, social emotional learning curriculum for K-8 students. She has presented locally and nationally on topics like trauma-informed care, arts integration, and restorative practices.

In addition to her work at NAMI GC, Cassey serves as a Drama Therapy Consultant with 2nd Act, where she facilitates therapeutic groups and programs for various organizations across Northeast Ohio. Passionate about using the arts to build connections, improve social determinants of health, and provide an expressive avenue for processing, Cassey is a steadfast advocate for arts in health, and the necessity the arts play in strong, healthy communities.
