Cassey Fye, LISW, CCTP
Presentation Title: Healing Through Performance: The Role of Drama Therapy in Adoption & Foster Care
Bio: Cassey is a Licensed Independent Social Worker and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional dedicated to fostering connection and recovery through the arts. With a Master of Social Work and a BFA in Theatre, she combines her expertise in social work and theatre to create innovative programs that address social determinants of health. Currently, Cassey serves as a drama therapy facilitator with 2nd Act (https://www.weare2ndact.org/), where she collaborates with justice-impacted individuals throughout Northeast Ohio to support recovery for individuals living with substance use disorder. In previous roles, Cassey has led initiatives that provide education and support for those affected by mental illness, adverse experiences, and trauma. She has made significant contributions to education as a co-author of the Cleveland Play House’s CARE Program, an evidence-based, trauma-informed social emotional learning curriculum for K-8 students. Cassey has presented locally and nationally on trauma-informed practices and arts integration. Passionate about the intersection of arts and well-being, she works to collaborate with community members to create innovative approaches for healing.
