Adoption Network Cleveland views adoption/foster care professionals as critical partners in the work we do supporting anyone touched by foster care or adoption throughout their journey.
We offer training to adoption/foster care professionals through a subcontract with the Ohio Child Welfare Training Program (OCWTP)
. All social workers working in foster care or adoption are required to complete Adoption Assessor Training
which is offered through OCWTP.
Partners for Forever Families presents Learning Community sessions
to promote permanency for youth. These sessions examine different topics monthly as they relate to adoption and foster care. Learning Community Sessions are free and open to all child welfare professionals, legal professionals and people personally touched by adoption and foster care who are interested.
Adoption Network Cleveland convenes the Adoption Awareness Coalition
, which is a group of local agencies that collaborate to present an annual workshop that focuses on key issues in adoption practice. The workshop is typically held in November, National Adoption Month, and is free for all Adoption Awareness Coalition member agency staff and affiliated families.
Professionals may also find it helpful to attend General Support and Discussion Meetings
, which provide insight into the lifelong impact of adoption for adoptees, adoptive parents, birthparents, siblings and their extended families. CEU’s are available at meetings featuring panels or speakers on specific topics, which are held throughout the year.
Through our tremendous success finding homes for youth at highest risk of aging out of foster care, Adoption Network Cleveland offers consulting services
with agencies and organizations that are seeking to create new programs or implement change in adoption practice in order to better serve all those involved.
By becoming a member
of Adoption Network Cleveland, professionals receive discounts to trainings we offer and learn about the lifelong impact of adoption through our programs and resources.
